October 10th

October 10th, 1972 – Dahlias & patients frozen this morning. Leaves of maples beautiful. A. putting in cement stand for clothesline.

Thursday, October 10th, 2013 – I went to a very interesting artist talk this morning by a deaf sound artist. At one point she said she had not been comfortable with painting and drawing as her medium of choice as she felt that the space between four edges of a painting or paper wasn’t adequate enough for her to express herself. That resonated with me. Maybe I haven’t found my medium yet.

Today I feel like I am losing confidence in my current project. It doesn’t feel dynamic enough or like something is missing. I am not sure where to go from here.

Does/would my addressing feelings make you uncomfortable? You seem to have so rarely expressed your feelings or thoughts in your diaries that I just wonder how my thoughts and entries would make you feel. How, or did, you express yourself, Grandma?
