Friday, December 31st, 1948 – Very blustery & cold getting wild by night. A. in bush all pm.
Tuesday, December 31st, 2013 – Last day of 2013. A year of big moves and changes. C here until tomorrow. Had a good break but it will be hard to see her go. I wonder what the next year will hold. Whatever it may be, I don’t think it will be found here. I sign off, for now.
Friday, December 24th, 1948 – Glenn thinks day too long. Forecast of storm coming. Snow fall heavy.
Tuesday, December 24th, 2013 – Cleaned up and lots of dishes after a lovely evening of company last night. Quiet afternoon at home. Took rabbits outside for their first experience of snow. Next door neighbour dropped off supper. And a lovely evening service at church.
Thursday, December 22nd, 1977 – Busy getting odds & ends gathered together. Hard work when you are feeling tough.
Sunday, December 22nd, 2013 – Good day. Relaxing morning; to favourite bookstore/cafe and antique store this afternoon. Menu planning for company tomorrow night. To church in eve.
Thursday, December 21st, 1950 – Wrapping parcels. To town G. & A. to Hockey match so I shopped. Quite cold & a lot of snow. Coloured lights in windows like fairy land.
Saturday, December 21st, 2013 – Another quiet day at home. C. got home very early this morning so slept late. Lots of talking & relaxing and Chinese food for supper.
December 20th, 1945 – Put up Xmas tree for Glenn. Worked on Verna’s heavy sweater sleeves. Very cold. Christmas cards coming in piles.
Friday, December 20th, 2013 – Quiet day at home reading art books and watching art videos. Waiting for C. Her flight continuously delayed.
December 19th, 1950 – Aunt J’s birthday. Lovely day. Busy crocheting doilies. These heat spells are getting me down. Cards coming fast. Nice note from Mrs. Collier.
Thursday, December 19th, 2013 – First day off to myself in a long time. Had a lovely day – found good chiro, spent hours at the WAG, quiet evening at home. Looking forward to someone coming home tomorrow!
Wednesday, December 17th, 1980 – Made a batch of cookies & re-planted Difenbachia & Shamrocks. Can’t get feed in to bird feeder because of deep snow.
Tuesday, December 17th, 2013 – Cleaned the house (all alone again) and had a lovely visit with M&N&I.
Sunday, December 16th, 1984 – Quite nice – Jean invited me over for supper. Marian & Gary came for me & got some more lights out. Marian, Gary & Nancy brought me home after a tour of lights. Lovely.
Monday, December 16th, 2013 – Met new baby and got some sleeping cuddles in. Mom & Dad left late afternoon and had Holiday dinner at MS.
Saturday, December 15th, 1945 – A. & G. went to other place. Glenn brought home Xmas tree on the tobaggon – very proud. To Port at night – Mrs Woloski went over.
Sunday, December 15th, 2013 – Quiet day, Mom not well in AM. Visited University in the afternoon. Dad and I to church in evening.
Sunday, December 14th, 1952 – Blustery but didn’t amount to much – alone all day.
Saturday, December 14th, 2013 – To Craft Museum, Cafe/Bookstore and favourite Antique store with Mom & Dad. Vietnamese for supper. Movie with dad.
